After completing my race last weekend, I am now in the mode for planning for the big race, the Marine Corps Marathon. As I have shared before, this is my big goal. When I started running a little over a year ago, the first time in 25 years, that was the big goal I had in mind. I then broke down the goal into smaller, achievable steps. That included signing up for races and then setting a plan of how I needed to run before that race.
Here I am, a year and three months later, with 3 half marathons, a 17.75 Hilly K and the Race 2 Register 10K under my belt, done. Wow, if I can do this after 25 years of no running, anyone can!
So, I am comparing MCM training plans and weighing the options. October 31st is not that far away and I will begin my official training in July.
More to come in future blogs. I'm open to suggestions!

25 years ago I was the top female runner in my high school. I began to run again for the first time last year since I'd never entered an adult race. In 2009 I ran my first two half marathons.
My goal is to successfully complete the Marine Corps Marathon this October 2010. I've come a long way, learned a great deal and have a long way to go. Join me on my journey and that we can inspire each other as we reach our goals. Happy Running! Heidi J Cox
